Rosamund Pike starrer fantasy series The Wheel Of Time to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2021

Rosamund Pike starrer fantasy series The Wheel Of Time is heading to digital for the premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2021.

Based on Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time fantasy novel series, the Amazon Studios series is all set for a 2021 release. The series that has already been greenlit for a second season, follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the powerful, all-woman organization of channelers (magic users) called the Aes Sedai, who takes a group of five young people from their home village following an attack by the forces of the Dark One, an evil entity who seeks to destroy the Pattern (Existence). Among these five, she believes one might be the reincarnation of the Dragon, an ancient hero and powerful channeler who is prophesied either to save the world or destroy it.

Scam 1992 and The Family Man star Shreya Dhanwanthary to play a crucial role in Taapsee Pannu-Tahir Raj Bhasin’s Looop Lapeta

Shreya Dhanwanthary will be seen in an important role in the forthcoming Taapsee Pannu-Tahir Raj Bhasin starrer Looop Lapeta. She becomes a household name recently after both her series Scam 1992 and The Family Man became runaway hits. The makers were looking for a popular and strong actor to match up to Taapsee and Tahir (who play Savi and Satya respectively), and Shreya, who has worked with Ellipsis previously, was the instant choice for the part of Julia in the new-age millennial film.

"There were many reasons for me to take up the film. The part offered to me was so delicious I couldn’t say no. I took my first steps with Tanuj and Atul from Ellipsis. The title is so loopy. And because I am always itching to try something new and crazy, which is what Looop Lapeta is! I've watched the original! Boy, Franka Potente can run!" says Shreya Dhanwanthary.

Looop Lapeta, produced by Sony Pictures Films India, Ellipsis Entertainment, and Aayush Maheshwari, and directed by Aakash Bhatia is scheduled to release this year.

Sonam Kapoor to make her digital debut; Blind opts for a direct to OTT release

With the current pandemic scenario, the digital renaissance has truly begun and some of the biggest names are jumping onto the OTT bandwagon. Sonam Kapoor Ahuja who has not had any release in the past two years, wrapped up work on her next - a thriller produced by Sujoy Ghosh. The project in topic is the Hindi remake of Korean mystery thriller titled Blind.

While the film was made for the theatres, we now hear that Sonam's Blind remake will now be a direct to OTT release. Our informer adds, "Sujoy had thought of waiting it out for a theatrical release. He is in fact very happy with how the film has turned out. But given the third wave scare, and another shut down of theatres, he is being advised to not hold onto the movie anymore. He is now talking to three digital streaming companies and he will select the best deal."

A trade guy shares, "Blind will be Sonam's debut on OTT. It is only a logical move to opt for the web because theirs is a small film and they will easily recover the money. Theatrical business is even more dicey at this point. So it's a good call."

EXCLUSIVE: "When I first shot Vicky Kaushal, he kept saying that I'm very awkward in front of the still camera" - Dabboo Ratnani on his annual calendar shoot

Vicky Kaushal is one such name in Bollywood who has managed to get a huge liking among the audience as well as the people of the industry. Apart from his powerful performances in his films, the actor also is very famous when it comes to his photoshoots. The actor has recently grabbed headlines when he released some of the pictures from the most awaited photoshoots of Bollywood. Vicky has collaborated with the ace photographer Dabboo Ratnani for the second consecutive time. The photographer himself is also very fond of the Masaan actor.

Recently, Dabboo Ratnani spoke to Bollywood Hungama and shared his experience working with Vicky Kaushal. When asked to comment upon his experience working with him, Dabboo said, “Because it's a non-commercial project, you cannot force anybody to do it. We don't make money out of it; we don't pay the actors anything. So, it's more for the passion, more for the relationship and more to achieve a great shot, it's more about creative satisfaction that we get through the calendar. So, with Vicky, I had shot Zubaan, his first film publicity and that time he kept saying I'm very awkward in front of the still camera but he was very easy. To me, he did amazing shots even that time but now he keeps saying I am not rigid, I couldn't pull. I was wondering what you would think of me. But he was very chilled out, he was very good in front of the camera and in fact some of those pictures I'll show it to people when I'll release some of them beacuse some of the pictures didn't come out in the posters but I had such an amazing throwback pictures of Vicky so hopefully I'll release them.”

He further recalled the last calendar shoot with Vicky and how he managed to give perfect shots despite the December cold. The photographer said, “Last year we did a calendar shot, where he was in water, he was very torso and he was freezing in the December cold water and it was on the roof top of a hotel so, it was so cold that he was actually shivering in the water but he managed to look really hot and sexy.”

He also discussed about the look that the actor carried for this year and said, “This time he was clean shaven so I said you know let's do a completely to it. Because usually what happen is when we do grungy stuff, stubble heavy beard with leather look. I said this time let's go with a leather with this clean look. It's a different thing for different takes; it's not that we always have to shoot bearded with leather. So, I said let's go with this clean look and do it with this whole leather and vest and we given it a very rugged look. So, I played a lot with the lighting in Vicky's shot and I lighted up in a very contrast high fashion black and white kind of style. I think it worked very well, it's looking very different. We've got 9 pictures and same thing happened with everyone that we couldn't choose the best one. We've been home because of the lockdown, so it gave us enough time to really go through the pictures and choose the best one and put it out there.”

EXO's D.O. to release his first mini-album on July 26, first teaser photo unveiled

Following the long-awaited comeback album 'Don’t Fight the Feeling' released on June 7, popular K-pop group EXO member D.O. (Do Kyung-soo) is gearing up for the release of his first solo album later in July.

Unveiling the first teaser photo on June 30 (July 1, midnight KST), D.O. is seen running through the field dressed in a white shirt, tie, denim shorts, and a blazer. While not much is known about the album or the genre, it is easily one of the anticipated solo albums this year.

EXO released their album earlier in June with an accompanying music video, 'Don’t Fight the Feeling' which was futuristic and the sci-fi meets K-pop vibes.

D.O. becomes the sixth member to release his solo work. Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin made their debut as CBX with Hey Mama!  Kai dropped his album titled 'KAI (开)'  last year along with the music video 'mmmh'. Earlier in 2020, the group's leader Suho (Self Portrait), Chen (April and a Flower, Dear My Dear) and Lay (Lay 02 Sheep, Namanana, LIT), and Baekhyun (City Lights, Delight, Bambi) have dropped their individual albums. Meanwhile, EXO's sub-unit EXO-SC featuring Chanyeol and Sehun have dropped '1 Billion Views' and made their debut with 'What a Life' in July 2019.

Shehnaaz Gill on losing weight - "Only slim and fit girls can survive in the industry"

Punjabi actress and singer Shehnaaz gill shot to fame when she appeared in Bigg Boss. Since then, the actress has been very much aligned with work and projects. The actress has also undergone a huge transformation post-Bigg Boss. Apart from that, the actress has also evolved her style game.

Recently, Shehnaaz did a live session on YouTube and told her fans that she got some free time during the shoot so she thought of coming live. She also then jokingly said her team prepared the script for the live. As soon as she started the live, thousands of people immediately joined her and were flooding the comments sections. Fans asked her several questions but one question was most asked - how did she manage to lose weight.

She revealed that she eats consciously and remains calorie deficient. Telling her diet plan she said, "My team keeps telling me to stop taking sugar and salt. But all that is bakwas. It’s important to keep a check on the quantity. You soon get into a habit of eating less and that’s the key to shed the extra weight,” she shared, adding that she has moong for breakfast with tea, and dal, chawal and sabzi for lunch. “For dinner, I just have milk.”

Shehnaaz also revealed that workout does help her to keep in shape but she isn't regular about it and depends more on diet. However, she added that she wants to start working out like that helps one be fit rather than just slim.

While there were many who pointed that they want old chubby bubbly Shehnaaz back and that they liked her for that only. To which she replied, “I can be that Shehnaaz anytime. However, then I won’t get much work. Industry mein patli ladkiyan chalti hai (Only slim and fit girls can survive in the industry)."

Later, during the live interaction, the 28-year-old actress also talked about her struggle days and how she has made it through them. She said, "I never stopped and worked so hard to get the fame and money I deserved. I have put in a lot of efforts over the years, and now I want only the best for myself.” She also said that "I believe one knows where they fit best and luck also plays a factor. All that you need to do is be honest towards your talent.”

In the end, Shehnaaz concluded the live on a sweet note and said, "It’s best to love yourself. Only then can you love anyone else."

On the work front, Shehnaaz will soon feature in a Punjabi film named Honsla Rakh opposite Diljit Dosanjh.

On Tuesday, Malaika shared a few pictures on Instagram in where she was the at the vaccine center in Bandra. The other pictures see her with staff members of the hospital. Naseeruddin Shah gets hospitalised

Senior actor Naseeruddin Shah who has enthralled the audiences with his performance over the decades was hospitalised two days back in Mumbai. Reportedly, he was diagnosed with pneumonia and there was a patch found in his lungs for which he is undergoing treatment currently.

Naseeruddin Shah is currently under medical supervision. As per reports, his condition is stable, and is responding well to the treatment. Shah's wife and actor Ratna Pathak Shah and their kids are in the hospital with him.

Naseeruddin Shah is one of the most celebrated actors of the Indian film industry and has been bestowed with the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan by the Indian Government. He was last seen in two streaming releases- Mee Raqsam, and Bandish Bandits. Earlier this year, he was seen in Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi.

Dilip Kumar gets hospitalised for the second time in a month

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar who was recently discharged from the hospital has once again been hospitalised to the intensive care unit of a city hospital. He was taken to the hospital following a complaint of breathlessness as a precautionary measure, ten days after he was discharged.

Reportedly, Dilip Kumar was hospitalised on June 29, Tuesday, in Hinduja Hospital's non-COVID facility. He is reportedly doing fine and is in the ICU so that doctors can monitor him.

Kumar was earlier hospitalized in the same city hospital on June 6 after he complained of breathlessness. He was diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion a build-up of excess fluid between the layers of the pleura outside the lungs and underwent a successful pleural aspiration procedure.

Actress and model Gan Gadot was recently blessed with a baby girl whom she named Daniella. The actress and her husband Jaron Varsano welcomed home their bundle of joy recently. The couple announced the news of expecting their child earlier this year in March.

The actress announced the news on her official Instagram handle with a family picture. The picture had the new member, Jaron Varsano and the other daughters, 3-year-old Maya and 9-year-old Alma. It's a sequel to the 2003 cult comedy, which starred Akshaye Khanna, Rimi Sen, Paresh Rawal, and Aftab Shivdasani in lead. Interestingly, Akshaye will be seen making a cameo appearance in Hungama 2. Apart from Hungama, Ramesh Taurani's horror-comedy, Bhoot Police too is gearing up for a premiere on Disney+ Hotstar around the month of September.

Shilpa Shetty's much-awaited screen comeback will happen in July with the release of Hungama 2. John Abraham joins YRF’s Pathan shoot in Mumbai

Bollywood action star John Abraham, who plays the villain in YRF’s Pathan, has joined the shooting schedule and the fans are rejoicing. John will be shooting his portions with Shah Rukh Khan, who started the schedule last week as Mumbai started to unlock post the second coronavirus wave! Check out his image that has been clicked by a fan at the YRF Studios which proves that the macho action star has resumed his Pathan shoot.

A top trade source reveals, “Aditya Chopra and Siddharth Anand is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that Pathan is an action-packed visual extravaganza. Siddharth is currently shooting some really intense and key portions of the film with Shah Rukh Khan and John at YRF Studios. Deepika Padukone will be joining the shoot in the next few days. We expect fireworks in this schedule as SRK and John come face to face for some blockbuster scenes in the film.”

Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathan is soon set to start its overseas schedule where the crew will shoot some jaw-dropping action sequences.

Dipika Kakar exits Sasural Simar Ka 2 in two months - "You do some things in life not for money or materialistic things for your mental satisfaction"

Popular Television actress Dipika Kakar reprised her role as Simar in the drama Sasural Simar Ka 2. The actress joined the cast of the show during March-April 2021 and left the show in just two months. The actress is quite active in her social media and also has a YouTube channel named 'Dipika Ki Duniya'. She keeps posting every bit of her life through her vlogs. In a recent vlog released by the actress, she revealed the reason behind why she adieu the show in just two months.

Dipika said that "My track was this long only. When Rashmi (Sharma, producer) ma’am called me, it was already decided and she was clear with me from day one. She told me that she needs me for around two to two-and-a-half months. I was more than happy to do it.”

She further confessed the reason behind signing the contract for just two months and said, "Whoever I am today, it’s all because of Colors and Sasural Simar Ka. I got the opportunity to pay back, and in life we don’t get this chance often. We need to give it our best, and I gave it my 200 percent, and I am very proud about it."

She also further revealed that she wasn’t taking up any shows but when producer Rashmi Sharma called her for a meeting, she couldn’t turn it down citing it as her duty. Dipika is currently on a break and is enjoying her marital life.

Dipika concluded the video and expressed her emotion towards the show and said, “You do some things in life not for money or materialistic things but for your mental satisfaction or emotional reasons. My emotional reason was that Sasural Simar Ka made me what I am today, it has given me a identity.So now, if I can give back to the makers, I cannot refuse no matter what.”

Lead actor and co-producer Farhan Akhtar revealed how challenging it was to get under the skin of his character. Talking about his role and preparation behind it, the actor said, “Toofaan is a true labour of love. No matter how physically strong one is, stepping into the shoes of a boxer is a whole new ball game. It took 8 to 9 months of rigorous training for me to get into the skin character and it made me realize how physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding the sport actually is. It is a true cosmopolitan city and a melting pot for various cultures and religions. Mumbai runs on the spirit of Mumbaikars. Priyanka Chopra is back in New York after spending months in London for the shooting of Text For You movie followed by Russo Brothers’ series, Citadel. She is spending a lot of time working but also with her family. A day ago, she visited visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with her mother Madhu Chopra and family.

The actress was dressed in a gorgeous brown, cream and white dress with ruffled layers and hem. The full sleeved number with a tie up detail was flowly with a tiny cinch at the waist. She paired it with brown kitten heels, simple make up and her hair in a half up half down up do. Priyanka looked amazing and fresh as ever as she glows with family love! Her mother Madhu Chopra was also seen with her in a knit top that she paired with black shorts and sneakers.

Other projects include a rom com with Mindy Kaling, a biopic on Ma Anand Sheela, The Matrix 4, an unscripted Amazon series tentatively called Sangeet which she and her husband Nick Jonas will produce.
