Bhumi Pednekar credits her directors for making her the artiste that she has become today. “The directors that I have been fortunate to work with, have shaped my career and my craft and I couldn’t be more grateful to them. Right from my first film, I was clear that I will look forward to creatively collaborating with the best minds in the business. So, if you look at my filmography you will see me work with directors who have shaped the terrain of content in our country,” says Bhumi.

Through her films, Bhumi has aimed at changing society for the better, championed representation of women in cinema and fought for gender inclusivity, including batting for the LGBTQIA+ community in India. She is known to be the most risk-taking woke actor in our country, given her choice of roles throughout her career in projects like Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Lust Stories, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Badhaai Do, Bala, to name a few.

Bhumi feels she has been able to make a mark constantly because the directors believed in her talent and honed her to better her acting skills with every film. Bhumi says, “The directors I have worked with have been so forward-thinking, they have rooted for equality and they have made the girl an agent of change and action. My core values have matched with the filmmakers that I have worked with. I will continue doing the same all throughout my career because I’m a constant learner.”

She adds, “I feel I have something new to learn and become better as an actor every single day. I’m always going to be this person. Every day I’m working hard to achieve that goal.”

Actress Kiara Advani is grateful for the positive response for her latest release SatyaPrem Ki Katha which arrived in theatres on, June 29. As the film is receiving rave reviews and both Kartik Aaryan and Kiara’s performances are been appreciated, the actress is overwhelmed.

Taking to her Instagram story, Kiara Advani wrote, “Feeling extremely emotional reading all the reviews. Katha has been a very special character to me with a crucial message and today seeing you all give her so much love makes my heart so full.”

In another story, she added, She wrote, “Today, what has truly touched me is seeing my fans rejoice with all the reviews coming my way. They have rooted for me since the very beginning and seeing them feel a sense of victory has made me really emotional. I owed it to them. It has taken me some but here we are finally! It is their success. This love is genuinely magical #Justgrateful.”

The film also stars Supriya Pathak Kapur, Gajraj Rao, Siddharth Randheria, Anooradha Patel, Rajpal Yadav, Nirrmite Saawaant and Shikha Talsania, and it is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It has opened at the box office at Rs. 9.25 crores on the Day 1.

Kajol calls The Trial - Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokhas showrunner Suparn as their gang leader; says We had an absolutely great time

He just made sure that we were all comfortable around each other as far the dialogues and other aspects were concerned. I think everybody was pretty much a veteran on set, everybody worked on many films before this, have done a lot of work, been in the industry for years. So, it was really comfortable, easy and good fun.”

Further talking about venturing into legal drama and how she prepped for her character, Kajol added, “I do love legal drama, but I didn't really go into detail and exact legalities of things. You know some laws are very common in the Indian system and we all know about it. However, I do have a vague understanding of what is allowed and what isn't. We had a lawyer on set to help us through the process.”

The show will feature an ensemble cast we’ve never seen together before which includes Sheeba Chaddha, Jisshu Sengupta, Alyy Khan, Kubbra Sait and Gaurav Pandey in key roles.

Anil Kapoor on Hindi film industry going through a rough patch: "There will be good and bad times"

Anil Kapoor, who is back with part 2 of The Night Manager, recently spoke about the Hindi film industry's unable to give back-to-back successes and films failing at the box office. The actor did say that the industry has gone through a rough patch.

As per Indian Express, Anil Kapoor said, “I have been working for so many years, my father (Surinder Kapoor) was also in this industry, so we’ve been here for around 60 years. Actors, directors, producers talking about films working and not working… yeh silsila toh kaafi saalo se chal raha hai (Such things keep happening). There are phases… for example for two years a particular type of films don’t work and people say industry bandh ho rahi hai (the industry is closing down). I myself have seen these phases five to six times in my career, but that doesn’t happen, it will never happen. It is just how every person sees ups and downs in their life, so it is the same with the business, there will be good and bad times.”

“I take it (the dull phase) positively because during the Covid-19 pandemic people have taken the time to try and understand how to work harder, do better and make good films. Films we’ll see now will be very good, the audience will like it. People learn a lot in such situations, and those who don’t, don’t survive. I think those who are sincere and honest with their work and know their job, who know their craft, for them, there’s nothing to get scared about, they just have to keep working. Films will be made, if the films are good then the audience will come to watch it, they are watching good films,” Anil said.

Filmmaker Karan Johar returns to direction with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani as it promises to be a cinematic extravaganza. Following the teaser release, the makers dropped the first song ‘Tum Kya Mile’ starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt on June 28. The song was shot in Kashmir and has been crooned by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. Now, Alia is vibing to it.

Alia Bhatt has been on vacation with Ranbir Kapoor and her daughter Raha. Sharing the video, Alia wrote in the caption, “Pehle pahado mein aur ab beach pe… hum toh gaate rahenge." The actress was lip syncing to 'Tum Kya Mile' on the beach.

R Balki on Neena Guptas test drive dialogue in Lust Stories 2: It is just common sense

After much anticipation, Netflix finally dropped the sequel of its popular anthology, Lust Stories. A section of the audience was eagerly awaiting the release of the film as this time, among many others, renowned director R Balki also helmed a segment. Speaking of the same recently, Balki discussed sexual portrayals in films that are confusing, with makers shying away from showing them in the most “commonsensical” way.

For the unversed, R Balki’s segment is lead by Neena Gupta, Mrunal Thakur and Angad Bedi. In fact, a scene from his segment, shown in the trailer, grabbed a lot of attention. In the said scene, Neena, who plays “daadi”, tells Mrunal Thakur, “Ek choti si gaadi lene se pehle test drive karte ho na. Toh shaadi se pehle no test drive (You go for a test drive before buying a car, don’t you. Then why are you so shy of a test drive before marriage).”

During an interview with Indian Express, the director was asked to share how he came up with such dialogues. In his response, he said, “It is simple… I don’t think much about it.” Explaining his take further, Balki asserted, “It is the way you feel. It is such an obvious thing… It is about common sense. Neena Gupta plays a grandmother in the film and she looks like a very normal grandmother who does puja, she is conservative and traditional.”

He continued, “Her thoughts are neither progressive nor conservative; what she is saying is just common sense. There are many reasons why people get married, but the human reason… What else can it be? Just check out beforehand that you are good enough for each other. That question that most parents don’t ask, so it’s her. Who better than that person to ask these questions? She’s seen life.”

Elaborating on his thought of calling it “family lust stories,” the Chup director said, “I don’t differentiate between men and women, it is from a person’s point of view. It is not from a woman’s point of view or a man’s point of view, it is a point of view. Fundamentally it is just a conversation, it is what I call a ‘U’ rated lust story, it is just simple as that. You can watch it with the whole family, it is a family lust story. You always think of lust stories as raunchy stuff, of course, all that is also beautiful, but we just chose to do this because we felt it was our fun thing to do, to have a talk about things in most families, which they never have.”

Coming back to the film, besides R Balki, actress-director Konkana Sen Sharma, Sujoy Ghosh, and Badhaai Ho fame Amit Sharma have also helmed different segments in the Netflix film.

Dharmendra issues apology to daughters Esha Deol Ahana Deol as well as wife Hema Malini on social media

It is a known fact that there has always been a sort of distance between the Deols when it comes to Prakash Kaur, Dharmendra’s first wife as well as yesteryear star Hema Malini, the legendary actor’s second wife. Although Esha Deol has always maintained about retaining cordial relationships with her half-brothers, fans were quick to point out that the actress did not attend the wedding of Karan Deol and Drisha Acharya on June 18. While it was rumoured that she had given it a skip because her mother Hema Malini was not invited, now Dharmendra has taken to social media to pen a heartfelt apology note.

Sunny Deol’s elder son Karan Deol tied the knot with his childhood friend Drisha Acharya in a lavish traditional ceremony in Mumbai which was attended by many renowned names from the Bollywood fraternity. However, the other Deol family including Bollywood actress Esha Deol remained conspicuous with their absence and fans were quick to notice that the actress had shared a congratulatory message for Jr Deol on his special day but did not attend any function. Amid all this, Dharmendra took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt note wherein he apologized to Esha, his second wife Hema Malini and their younger daughter Ahana Deol as well as his son-in-laws Bharat Takhtani and Vaibhav Vora.

Sharing a photo with Esha Deol, Dharmendra said in his note, “Esha , Ahana , Hema and all my darling kids ……loving Takhtani’s and Vohra’s l love you and respect you all from the core of my heart……age and illness is telling upon me I could have spoken personally to to you ……..but (folded hands emoji).” Followed by that, his son-in-law, and husband of Esha Deol, Bharat Takhtani commented on it saying, “Love u too Papa <3 (hug emoji).”

Movie Review: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (English) INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY works due to the plot entertaining action scenes and performances.

INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY is the story of a legendary archaeologist’s final adventure. In 1944, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) infiltrates a Nazi camp with the help of his friend Basil Shaw (Toby Jones) and steals a part of the Archimedes Dial called Antikythera. They fight off Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen) who is presumed dead. 25 years later, Indiana Jones is living a sad life. His son died in the Vietnam War. His wife Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) has left him. He is teaching history to a group of bored youngsters. On the day of his retirement, he comes across Helena Shaw (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), Basil's daughter. Basil died with the dream of someday finding the other half of the Archimedes Dial. Helena proposes to Indiana that they both should set out for the endeavour. Indiana is not open to the idea but shows him the one-half of the Dial that he and Basil got in 1944. Unbeknownst to Helena, Voller’s men follow her. He is alive and is also trying to find the two halves of the Archimedes Dial. At this very point, Indiana also realizes that Helena wants the Archimedes Dial not for archaeological purposes and that she has ulterior motives. In the ensuing madness, she escapes with the Dial to Tangier, Morocco. Indiana Jones follows her and so does Voller. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, David Koepp and James Mangold's story is adventurous. Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, David Koepp and James Mangold's screenplay is peppered with some entertaining moments. However, the writing is stretched after a point. The dialogues are fine.

James Mangold's direction has its share of plusses. The way he has executed it, it looks like an ideal Indiana Jones film. His direction is not too different from the previous films, helmed by the great Steven Spielberg. The action and chase sequences in and atop the train and in New York and Tangier are splendid and also funny. The love-hate bond shared by Indiana Jones and Helena makes for a nice watch. The climax is unexpected.

On the flipside, at 156 minutes, this is the longest INDIANA JONES film of the series. The second half is dragging. The character of Teddy (Ethann Isidore) is unconvincing as he can do everything, from riding a plane and swimming, though he doesn’t know either. The finale is unpredictable and must have looked fascinating on paper. But it doesn’t translate as intended on celluloid. Lastly, the buzz for the film is limited.

Speaking of performances, Harrison Ford gives an energetic performance. The audiences surely will be in awe to see him play this role with a gusto that too in his late 70s. Phoebe Waller-Bridge delivers a confident performance. She’s especially memorable in the scene involving the dynamite. Mads Mikkelsen is decent as the antagonist. Antonio Banderas (Renaldo) is wasted. Toby Jones is decent. Ethann Isidore plays an unconvincing character but his performance is first-rate. Shaunette Renée Wilson (Mason) is fair.

John Williams' music is splendid and cinematic. It has a nostalgic vibe and is also in sync with the modern times. Phedon Papamichael's cinematography is breathaking. The locales of Morocco, especially, are beautifully captured by the lensman. Adam Stockhausen's production design is nice but pales in comparison to what we have seen in the previous films of INDIANA JONES. Joanna Johnston's costumes are appropriate. VFX is outstanding. The de-ageing done of Harrison in the 1944 scene is praiseworthy. The action is entertaining. Andrew Buckland, Michael McCusker and Dirk Westervelt's editing is not upto the mark. The film should have been shorter by 20 minutes.

On the whole, INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY works due to the plot, entertaining action scenes and performances of Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. However, the long length, comparatively weaker second half and minimal fan following of the franchise in India will affect its prospects at the box office.

Ayesha Singh and Neil Bhatt pen emotional note as they bid adieu to Ghum Hain Kisikey Pyaar Meiin

Star Plus' show Ghum Hain Kisikey Pyaar Meiin has had a loyal audience ever since its inception. The show’s twists and turns along with the high-octane drama have kept the viewers for years. While Sai and Virat aka Ayesha Singh and Neil Bhatt have become household names, and won hearts of the audience, now it is time for a revamp for GHKPM. Readers would be aware that Neil Bhatt and Ayesha Singh are all set to bid adieu to the show, paving the way for Shakti Arora, Bhavika Sharma, and Sumit Singh to showcase their unique love triangle.

Ayesha Singh and Neil Bhatt took to their social media accounts, before bidding their farewell to the show. On Tuesday, Ayesha and Neil aka Sai and Virat took to Instagram to thank their fans to have showered them with love and applause and urged them to continue showering the same love and support for Shakti Arora, Bhavika Sharma, and Sumit Singh, who will presenting another love story.

In the emotional goodbye letter for their ardent fans, Neil Bhatt said, “Virat ko aapne apne dil mein jagah di, aap hi ke kaaran Virat ka qirdaar ghar-ghar tak pahoch paaya. Iss support aur pyaar ke liye thank you. Virat sirf ek qirdaar nahin, meri pehchaan ka ek hissa hai, jo humesha mujhse juda rahega. Aur uske saath judi rahengi wo saari yaadein, aur aapka dher saara pyaar. Iss safar ko khoobsoorat banaane ke liye, aur har mod par mera saath nibhaane ke liye, aap sabhi ka bahot bahot shukriya! Aur I hope you will be following our Savi ki kahani – I know I will. Thank you for everything”. He signed off the letter as, ‘With Love, Virat’.

On the other hand, Sai aka Ayesha Singh added, “It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 3 years from that first day of shoot.. Sai ke roop mein mera safar bahot hi yaadgaar raha. To my amazing army of Sai’s fans: iss qirdaar ko aapne jo pyaar diya, support diya, uske liye aap sabhi ko dilse thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart. Pakistani singer Ali Sethi calls Arijit Singh No. 1 after Pasoori Nu remake: Main unke gaane sunta hoon

Satyaprem Ki Katha starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani is only a few days away from its release. Earlier this week, ‘Pasoori Nu’ was unveiled which is a remake of Pakistani Punjabi song crooned by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill for Coke Studio Pakistan. The new version has been sung by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar. The music is given by Rochak Kohli and Ali Sethi. The lyrics of the song are given by Gurpreet Saini and Ali Sethi. While the song has received a mixed response from the audience, original singer Ali Sethi is supporting Arijit Singh’s version.

While sharing his views, in his recent live broadcast on Instagram, Ali Sethi said, “Arijit Singh is no 1. Main Arijit ke gaane sunta hoon and khaas taur par ‘Laal Ishq’, ‘Aayat’ and ‘Phir Le Aaya Dil’. Mujhe lagta hai ki yeh kaise ho sakta hai ki ek contemporary modern singer jo bilkul ek contemporary andaaz main gaaye like ‘Haan Main Galat’, woh jab semi classical andaaz ko chhedhte hai, you don’t feel for a moment that you are missing that shudhta which is required for classical (I have heard Arijit’s songs specially ‘Laal Ishq’, ‘Aayat’ and ‘Phir Le Aaya Dil’. I feel stunned by the fact how a contemporary modern singer who has a different way of singing, brings brilliance when he sings a classical song.”

Satyaprem Ki Katha also marks a collaboration between NGE and Namah Pictures. Interestingly, Sajid Nadiadwala and Shareen Mantri Kedia with Kishor Arora & director Sameer Vidwans won a National Award for their respective feature films. Karan Johar pays homage to Yash Chopra in 'Tum Kya Mile' from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani: 'It had to be unapologetic or it wouldn't be true'

Filmmaker Karan Johar is all set to release the first song 'Tum Kya Mile' from his directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani today. The song features Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and has been crooned by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. With this song, Karan Johar pays homage to late filmmaker Yash Chopra who was the true pioneer of love songs shot in the valleys and actresses wearing chiffon sarees.

Ahead of the song release today in the afternoon, Karan Johar penned a heartfelt note. The song, choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant, was shot in Kashmir. Karan said, "In a few hours #tumkyamile will be yours…. I remember at the very onset my instinct was that I wanted to film a love song that would unabashedly pay homage to my guru Yash Chopra…. The thinking evolved mind would say “you can’t match it or even dare to emulate it “ but the fan boy and the ardent lover of snow, chiffons,the stunning locations of Kashmir and sheer romance got the better of me. Pritam Dada and I yearned for a song for the ages from the ages and it had it be unapologetic or it wouldn’t be true …My deepest gratitude to Vaibhavi Merchant who got the Memo better than I did and completely took charge and being a Yash Chopra lover herself … she gave her heart to our song."

This was the first song Alia Bhatt shot after giving birth to her daughter Raha. Whereas it marks Ranveer's first snow-filled mountain love song. "This is also the first shoot Alia did after the birth of her angel and I remain in apology for freezing her in Manish Malhotra chiffons … in sympathy I fell drastically ill through the shoot ( a karmic punishment perhaps ????) Ranveer was nervous as this was his first lip sync mountain love song but he was a real trooper."

Ram Kapoor on Neeyat: "I based some of the character parts on my own father"

Ram Kapoor is a name that needs no introduction. Establishing himself as a critically acclaimed artist whose work spans across television, films, and digital industry, Ram Kapoor has earned a reputation for his method acting skills. He is known to breathe life into the characters that he plays which makes it feel as if the viewers are in a rendezvous with the person he is portraying. Ram Kapoor will be seen next as billionaire Ashish Kapoor in the murder mystery Neeyat. Ram recently opened up about the process of preparing for his character.

Talking about playing Ashish Kapoor in Neeyat, Ram Kapoor says, “When I first heard the script, I immediately fell in love with the project. It is a fantastic role and it is the kind of role that I knew I was well suited for. I could see myself playing Ashish Kapoor. Personality-wise, certain characters are difficult to get into, and certain characters are easier, this one was the latter. When I first read the script, I saw that this was not going to be too difficult to get into, it was relatable to me, and that was my initial thought. I based some of the character parts on my own father. My father was also a typical North Indian Punjabi man who could be very loud and opinionated, and he was also very well-to-do, very successful. There were similarities between him and my character, so I based the building blocks of the character on my father, whom I discussed with Anu as I thought that would help me make it more personal. Anu liked that and helped me build on it more, that’s how we developed it together”.

Neeyat is set in the breathtakingly beautiful highlands of Scotland, the engaging trailer takes the viewer into the glamourous world of billionaire Ashish Kapoor and his close circle of family and friends, where everyone is tangled in their own web of secrets. When Ashish Kapoor ends up being murdered at his own party, it is up to Detective Mira Rao to uncover the hidden motives and mysteries in this classic whodunnit.

The movie also features a strong ensemble cast featuring Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Neeraj Kabi, Amrita Puri, Shahana Goswami, Niki Walia, Dipannita Sharma, Shashank Arora, Prajakta Koli, Danesh Razvi, Ishika Mehra and Madhav Deval in pivotal roles. Neeyat is directed by Anu Menon who last directed Vidya Balan in the 2020 superhit ‘Shakuntala Devi’. Anu Menon’s recent directing credits also include multiple episodes of the internationally acclaimed series ‘Killing Eve’. Neeyat has been written by Anu Menon, Priya Venkataraman, Advaita Kala and Girvani Dhyani with dialogues by Kausar Munir. It is produced by the Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment (that also produced Shakuntala Devi, Sherni and Jalso), and co-produced by Prime Video.

Parineeti Chopra is back in New Delhi with her fiance Raghav Chadha after visiting Rajasthan for location scouting. The couple is apparently preparing for a winter wedding.

At the airport on Monday, Parineeti Chopra was dressed in a navy blue top along with a black shrug and pants. Raghav Chadha was wearing a beige shirt and pants. The two of them headed towards their car at the airport. Last month, Parineeti had visited Udaipur for location scouting. This time, the two of them visited Rajasthan together. The plan is to visit Jaipur as well.

Back in May 2023, it was reported that Parineeti met Shikha Saxena, Deputy Director of the Tourism Department of Udaipur. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Shikha had said, “I met Parineeti at the airport, where we had a good 20-minute conversation, following which we spent the day going to the venues with her. She was not directly talking about marriage but the conversation revolved around things which were indicative around that.”

“She was inquiring about the weather in Udaipur, when does the monsoon start and winter start. She had September in her mind. I told her that we have late monsoon, so it would be rainy till the last week of September. At that instance, she looked at her PA and noted down the information,” Shikha had added.

When Karan Johar preferred Mr India over his father Yash Johars multi-starrer

Karan Johar’s father Yash Johar was a leading producer in the 1970s and 80s. However, he lost a lot of money in the 90s producing big-budget disasters such as Mahesh Bhatt’s Gumrah (starring Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt) and Duplicate (featuring Shah Rukh Khan).

But Yash Johar’s biggest setback and the one that wiped him out financially was Muqaddar Ka Faisla featuring a sprawling star cast of Raj Kumar, Raj Babbar, Rakhee Gulzar, Meenakshi Sheshadri and Tina Munim. Released in 1987, it was a massive debacle.

Making things worse for Yash Johar was his own son Karan. “Even I refused to see Muqaddar Ka Faisla! Mr India was released during the same week. I made it very clear that under no circumstance was I going to miss Mr India to see Muqaddar Ka Faisla. My father was disappointed. I could see it on his face. But at 16, you are only interested in doing what you want to do. Even the next day after I picked Mr India over my father’s film, I went to see B Subhash’s Dance Dance,” recalled Karan.

Muqaddar Ka Faisla wiped out the finances of Dharma Production. In 1998, Karan Johar revived his father’s production house. “When Kuch Kuch Hota Hai became such a hit, I was so happy to see that smile back on my father’s face. It was the proudest moment of my life,” recalled Karan emotionally.

Ram Charans wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela shares a video of pre-delivery; describes it as the happiest moment of their lives

Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni Konidela couldn’t hold their excitement as they announced their pregnancy in December last year. Since then, fans have been awaiting the good news. On June 21, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. The superstar and his wife also posted a frame-worthy photo with the newborn on social media. Now, Upasana decided to give her social media followers a glimpse of her pre-delivery.

In a video posted by Upasana Kamineni Konidel on Instagram on Sunday, the entrepreneur was seen being taken into labour room. Upasana posted the video as she captioned it saying, “5 days ago. Happiest moment of our lives! Surrounded by soooo much love <3”.

Earlier that day, Ram and Upasana received a warm welcome from their family as they arrived with their new born. Upasana had also shared about the moment on social media saying, “Overwhelmed by the warm welcome for our little one. Thank you for all the love and blessings”.

Citadel: Varun Dhawan wraps the Serbia schedule

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has wrapped the Serbia schedule of his first web series, Citadel. The actor confirmed the news on Saturday by sharing a photo with the team.

“It has been amazing working on it. We are going to be filming in Serbia. We have a month-long schedule over there with a lot of action. It is a very big series, nothing like people have seen in India yet,” Dhawan had informed PTI at IIFA 2023 in May.

Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK are directing the Indian version. “The makers are pushing the envelope. Samantha and I can’t be doing something mediocre. She is one of the hardest working actors,” Dhawan added. “

He added, “There are some directors who are on your bucket list. For me, it was Shoojit Sircar (October), Sriram Raghavan (Badlapur) and Nitesh Tiwari (Bawaal). Some of my best performances come out when I work with these directors as they push me.”

For the unversed, Varun Dhawan had his international debut with a cameo in Priyanka and Richard’s Citadel. In the fifth episode, Priyanka Chopra’s Nadia Sinh has a secret child with Mason Kane, played by Richard Madden and she has kept the news under wraps. During the flashback from 8 years ago, she makes a call to the terrorist Rahi Gambhir in an attempt to relocate to Spain after she finds out about her pregnancy. When she is confronted by Mason and Osy Ikhile (Carter Spence) about contacting Gambhir, she reveals that the man is, in fact, her father. Played by Paul Bazely, he helps her escape Citadel in order to move to Spain. Interestingly, the call that happens on the episode is dubbed by none other than Varun Dhawan. His cameo gets confirmed when the end credits roll and thank Varun.

The Indian version is being directed by Raj & DK. Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK will also serve as executive producers, under their banner D2R Films. The series is produced by D2R Films and Amazon Studios, with AGBO’s Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and David Weil (Hunters) overseeing production on the Indian Original and all series within the global Citadel universe. Returning to direction after seven years, we all know that Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is a love story that is close to Karan Johar. Readers would recall that the teaser of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani which was launched last week featured a couple of lines from the song ‘Tum Kya Mile’ and now we hear that Karan Johar will be releasing the romantic track in the coming days. Ahead of the launch, Karan has shared a series of videos showcasing the excitement from Mumbai to London in this unique promotional strategy. In the set of videos, the Dharma Productions have decided to showcase a new promotional strategy where the song ‘Tum Kya Mile’ is written across the skies in the most romantic way and each video is set against an iconic backdrop, from different cities which includes the Lotus Park in Sydney, the Niagara Falls in USA, Big Ben in London, Marine Drive in Mumbai, and the famous Dubai Frame.

Along with the song launch, we also hear that the trailer of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani will also be releasing soon. The film marks the return of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt together on the big screen after their 2019 outing Gully Boy. Besides them, the film also boasts of an extensive ensemble cast which includes Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Anjali Anand, Kshitee Jog, Aamir Bashir, Namit Das, Churni Ganguly, Tota Roy Chowdhury, among others. The film is slated for release on July 28.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan starred Shah Rukh Khan as Major Samar Anand, the protagonist, and Sharib Hashmi portrayed the character of Zain Mirza, his best friend. Interestingly, there was another actor who auditioned for the role of Zain but was unable to secure it. In a recent interview, Sharib shared a connection with Katrina Kaif, who was also a part of the film.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan, a romantic drama directed by Yash Chopra, hit the screens in 2012. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma in lead roles. In an interview with Aaj Tak, Sharib revealed an interesting connection between Vicky Kaushal and the film. He disclosed that Vicky had auditioned for the role of Zain, SRK's friend. However, the makers felt that Vicky wasn't suitable for the part, leading to Sharib being chosen for the role instead.

For the unversed, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal tied knot in December last year after dating for 2 years. It was a grand wedding in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. It was a private wedding in the presence of family members with limited friends from the film industry.

On the work front, Vicky Kaushal is currently basking the success of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. Co-starring Sara Ali Khan, the film featured them as a married couple from a middle-class household living in a joint family who come up with a unique solution to resolve their issues. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film released on June 2. On the other hand, Katrina’s last film was Phone Bhoot, which was a theatrical release. Maitree: Kunal Karan Kapoor opens up about playing a negative role post 6 month leap in the Shrenu Parikh Bhaweeka Chaudhary show

Zee TV’s popular fiction show Maitree follows the journey of Maitree (Shrenu Parikh) and Nandini (Bhaweeka Chaudhary) who went from being soul sisters to enemies. Amid all the intriguing twists and turns coming up, the viewers recently witnessed a six month leap and a grand comeback of Maitree’s deceased husband and stepping in the shoes of Saaransh, is none other than popular actor, Kunal Karan Kapoor.

Audiences are now curious about Saaransh’s re-entry and how will it affect Maitree’s life with her current husband, Harsh (played by Samarth Jurel). Post the leap, viewers saw Kunal making an entry in Tiwari family and introducing himself as Ashish but Maitree is not ready to believe the story. The twist is that Saaransh gets to know that Ashish (Bhaweeka’s husband played by Namish Taneja) has passed away in a fire accident and he takes advantage of the situation to enter the house as Ashish. Saaransh has an ulterior motive and it is to avenge Maitree. But we hear that his real identity will get disclosed soon.

Talking about playing an antagonist, Kunal Karan Kapoor said, “My last show with Zee TV was Woh Apna Sa in 2018, so I am coming back on Zee TV after almost 5 years now.  I don’t play negative roles very often, so portraying Saaransh will definitely be an interesting challenge for me, especially after returning to television after one year. I have mostly played the role of ideal man on screen; therefore, I am very excited for my fans and the viewers of the show to see me as a vindictive person.  I have started shooting for the show and I can say this already that every team member is very kind as they all have welcomed me with open arms.”

While Kunal is ecstatic to return on television and play a negative role on screen, it will be interesting for the viewers to witness how Maitree will save herself and Harsh (Samarth Jurel) from the malicious plan of Saaransh. The show airs every day at 6:30 pm, on Zee TV.

The film, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, features Kamal Haasan in the role of a talented cop who is on a hunt to find the people who killed the daughter of a former high-ranking police official, only to release that his mission has now become a bigger hunt after he realizes that he is now hunting a set of serial killers with psychopathic tendencies.

On the work front, Kamal Haasan is currently gearing up for the much awaited Indian 2 which will see him reprise the avatar of the action-packed vigilante Senapathy. The sequel to the 1996 starrer will feature Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles and it is directed by S Shankar. It is being said that the makers are keen on releasing the film during Pongal 2024 in multiple languages.

Sobhita Dhulipala opens up about being criticized for her looks during ad auditions; says I was told many times that I am not gori enough

Actress Sobhita Dhulipala is preparing for the launch of the second part of her web series, The Night Manager featuring alongside Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur. Additionally, this year she had also played a crucial role in Mani Ratnam's grand project, Ponniyin Selvan II. During a recent interview, the actress disclosed that she faced comments about her complexion and physical appearance, being labeled as “not fair” and “not pretty enough” during her auditions for advertisements.

During an interview with Indian Express, Sobhita Dhulipala revealed that in her past experience working in advertising, she faced frequent comments about her inadequate fairness and lack of conventional beauty. Nevertheless, these remarks did not discourage her; instead, they helped her recognize that society's definition of beauty was limited and restricted. She said, “When you are starting out, everything is a battle. I am not from the movies. I remember in my ad auditions I was told many times that I am not ‘gori’ (fair) enough. There were these things which you see at ad level, where I was told to my face that I am not pretty enough. Not that I was (dejected).”

In response, she explained that rather than allowing those opinions to discourage her, she began exploring innovative ways to remain involved in the industry she deeply cared about, regardless of others' perceptions of her appearance. Her passion for the field fueled her determination to find alternative avenues where she could express her creativity. “That’s when you start thinking out of the box, instead of waiting for a brilliant successful commercial filmmaker to ‘discover’ you. What is in my control is to go for auditions, give my 100 percent,” said the actress.

Talking about the Night Manager 2, the first part saw the clash between Shelly Rungta (Anil Kapoor) and Shaan Sengupta (Aditya Roy Kapur), the new update is that fans will see new alliances being formed in the upcoming season. Directed by Sandeep Modi, the web show features Tilottama Shome in the character of RAW officer Lipika Rao.  Get set for a journey of twists, turns and thrill with The Night Manager: Part 2 that will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on June 30.

Randeep Hooda wraps up Swatantra Veer Savarkar; says I have been to death and back for this film

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda took to social media on Thursday to announce the completion of the film Swatantra Veer Savarkar, in which he portrays the role of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Hooda shared a heartfelt message along with a montage featuring pictures and videos from the film's sets, expressing his gratitude to the team for their unwavering support.

In the shared video, the cast and crew can be seen jubilantly shouting "Vande Mataram" as they celebrate the completion of the film, commemorated by cutting a cake. Hooda was spotted wearing a knee brace on the set, showcasing his dedication to the project.

Expressing his gratitude, The Radhe actor wrote, "It's a wrap for #VeerSavarkar. I have been to death and back for this film, but that is a topic for another day. For now, big heartfelt thanks to my team, cast, and crew, who have rallied day and night behind me through thick and thin and made it happen." For the unversed, during the shoot of the film, Hooda was injured and underwent knee surgery.

Movie Review: Tiku Weds Sheru TIKU WEDS SHERU is an avoidable fare.

TIKU WEDS SHERU is the story of two crazy characters. Shiraz Khan Afghani aka Sheru (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) lives in Mumbai and works as a junior artist. Alongside, he’s also a pimp, with fellow junior artist Anand (Mukesh Bhatt). He had taken Rs. 10 lakhs loan to make a film from Shahid bhai (Vipin Mishra). He fails to return the money as he never makes the film. Sheru is asked to repay the loan or else, Shahid’s men threaten to take over his Mumbai house. Meanwhile, Sheru’s uncle from Bhopal informs him that the family of a girl named Tasleem Khan aka Tiku (Avneet Kaur) is interested in getting their daughter married to him. They also plan to pay him Rs. 10 lakhs as a dowry. Sheru sees Tiku’s picture and falls for her. Also, he realizes that the dowry money will help him repay his loan. Tiku is initially against marrying Sheru as she is in love with a man named Binni Arora (Rahoul), who’s also from Mumbai. But Binni suggests to Tiku that she should marry Sheru as it’ll help her relocate to Mumbai and fulfill her dreams of becoming an actress. Tiku likes this idea. Also, Binni is in Mumbai and she would get a chance to be with him. Tiku weds Sheru and they move to Mumbai. Sheru pays off his debt. He lies to Tiku and her sister Sana (Khushi Bharadwaj) that the house where he’s living is his temporary accommodation and that his flat is under renovation. The same day, Tiku runs away to be with Bini. She also learns that she’s pregnant with Binni’s child. Binni, however, refuses to take care of the yet-to-be-born baby. He also informs Tiku that he is married and has a kid. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Sai Kabir's story is clichéd and very juvenile. Sai Kabir and Amit Tiwari's screenplay fails to hide the loose ends and flaws in the plot. The writers add too many tracks and issues and the end result is a mess. Sai Kabir and Amit Tiwari's dialogues are okay and some one-liners raise laughs.

Sai Kabir’s direction is poor. He had earlier directed REVOLVER RANI [2014], which also had some issues. But at least, his execution was neat. Here, his direction goes for a toss. From the first scene, one can sense that the direction is not upto the mark. In the later scenes, however, the film does get a bit interesting, especially the circumstances under which Tiku and Sheru get married. It’s still unconvincing but at least, it catches attention. Tiku finding out that she’s pregnant is quite dramatic as also what happens thereafter. Tiku and Sheru going out for dinner and to the beach is cute

From here on, the film falls and how. The drug angle is forced. Tiku’s struggles also seem very unconvincing, and depressing. In fact, several developments are bewildering and are not explained properly by the makers. Viewers never come to know what happened to the Rs. 10 lakhs loaned by Shahid to Sheru and how the latter blew it away. Sheru stealing the production car and using it more than once is also not digestible. It is strange how Tiku never finds out that Sheru is not as rich as he pretends to be. The baby angle is needless and was added just for the heck of it. This is evident by the fact that this angle becomes inconsequential towards the end. In fact, the content of the films falls to another level in the climax. The cross-dressing and cross-firing simply made zero sense. Audiences are sure to wonder who on earth approved such sub-standard script in the first place.

Speaking of performances, Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays his part with utmost sincerity. He had played a struggler earlier as well, in GHOOMKETU [2020]. But he makes sure that the performance in this film stands out. Avneet Kaur has a fine screen presence and performs well. Khushi Bharadwaj is lovely. Vipin Sharma, Mukesh Bhatt and Ghanshyam Garg (Raza Ali Khan) are okay. Rahuoul is hardly there for a scene. The same goes for Kangana Ranaut’s cameo appearance. Zakir Hussain (Ahmed Rizvi) and Suresh Vishwakarma (Chandresh Bhund) do well but are let down by the writing. In fact, their track is the worst part of the film.

Music is not upto the mark. 'Meri Jaane Jaan' is catchy but the rest of the songs like 'Tum Se Milke', 'DNA Bhokali', 'Intezaar Tha' and 'Aitbaar Tha' are not worth remembering. Aman Pant's background score keeps the mood of the film light.

Fernando Gayesky's cinematography is appropriate. Sheetal Sharma's costumes are as per the demands of the script and are fine. Rakesh Yadav's production design is of a good standard. Ballu Saluja's editing is sharp.

On the whole, TIKU WEDS SHERU is an avoidable fare due to its silly plot and amateur direction.

Penn Masala performs Shah Rukh Khan's song Chhaiya Chhaiya to welcome PM Narendra Modi at the White House; watch

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted with a grand ceremonial welcome at the White House on Thursday, hosted by President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. The arrival of PM Modi was accompanied by a lively performance by the American A cappella group, Penn Masala, who delighted the audience with a rendition of Shah Rukh Khan's iconic song 'Chhaiya Chhaiya' from the film Dil Se directed by Mani Ratnam.

The enthusiastic crowd, including members of the Indian diaspora, had gathered in large numbers on the South Lawns of the White House to extend their warm greetings.

Prime Minister Modi looked elegant in a traditional white kurta pyjama paired with a powder blue jacket. The visuals captured the sight of the crowd waving Indian and US flags while chanting "Modi, Modi." Banners expressing the excitement of the Indian American diaspora were held high, with one reading, "Indian American Diaspora welcomes Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi."

Following the ceremonial welcome, Prime Minister Modi and President Biden engaged in a one-on-one meeting in the Oval Office. The leaders discussed various aspects to strengthen the Indo-US strategic relations, including defence, space, clean energy, and critical technologies. The high-level talks aimed to further deepen the growing ties between the two nations.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt take off on a break; paps cannot stop gushing over their airport looks

Amid backlash Kriti Sanons mother Geeta Sanon shares a heartfelt post on Adipurush

Ever since its release Adipurush has been making quite a bit of uproar ever since its release. While actors and the filmmaker Om Raut is facing a major backlash from audiences, who are quite disappointed with the film, Kriti Sanon shared a cryptic post on her social media that has garnered attention. The actress reposted a verse shared by her mother Geeta Sanon about Ramayana amid all the controversies surrounding the film.

Readers would be aware that Kriti Sanon essayed the role of Janaki in this magnum opus Adipurush which is expected to be a retelling of the epic saga of Ramayana. The post shared by Geeta Sanon read, "Jaki rahi bhavna jaisi, Prabhu murat dekhi tin taisi." She also explained the meaning of the verse adding, "Iska arth hai ki achi soch aur drishti se dekho toh srishti sundar hin dikhai degi. Bhagvan Raam ne hi hume sikhaya hai ki Shabri ke ber me uska prem dekho naki ye ki wo jhoothe the… Insan ki galtiyon ko nhi uski bhawna ko samjho. Jai Shri Ram. (the beauty of nature depends on your perception and thoughts. Lord Ram has taught us that one must see the love in the fruit gifted by Shabri, not that it was fake or wrong… Don’t look at one’s flaws, instead, understand their emotions behind it)."

The post was reposted by Kriti on her Instagram story and captioned it as ‘Jai Shri Ram’ hailing the lord and later, her sister Nupur Sanon too added the post on her social media adding, “Ekdum Sahi (absolutely right).”

For the unversed, Adipurush, directed by Om Raut features Prabhas as Raghav, Devdatta Nage as Bajrang, Sunny Singh as Laxmanan, Saif Ali Khan as Lankeshwar, among others. The film, which released on June 16, faced a severe backlash from Indian audience, who are not only trolling the film for misrepresentation of details from the epic saga of Ramayana but also accusing it to be a cringe-fest with ‘tapori’ dialogues and criticized for its bad VFX.
