Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh was honoured at the third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia. Over the course of 10 days starting from November 30 to December 9, the festival will celebrate the local and international filmmaking talents. Along with Ranveer, German actress Diane Kruger and veteran Saudi writer and actor Abdullah Al-Sadhan will also be the honorees. On the first day of the event, Ranveer was in attendance at Jeddah for a conversation followed by which he attended the red carpet on the opening night.

At the event, Ranveer opted for an all-black look for the opening ceremony. Presenting the honour to Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor was Sharon Stone who took to the stage and said, “I have had the exciting pleasure of meeting Ranveer Singh before. What a great guy! He is truly an all-rounder creative genius. It gives me genuine great pleasure to welcome him to the stage to receive yet another prestigious award.” In the video, Ranveer seemed overwhelmed by receiving an award from Stone.

After receiving the award, Ranveer thanked his fans and said, “I want to thank my beautiful fans the most. They have been my driving force. They inspire me to push my limits and strive for greatness, to find that moment of truth that is invaluable.”

During his speech, Ranveer Singh posed with Johnny Depp and called him his inspiration in his speech. “One of my screen idols is in the house. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Johnny Depp. My good sir, I have followed your work since Edward Scissorhands and What's Eating Gilbert Grape. What an honour to be receiving in your presence. Thank you for everything you have unknowingly taught me about the craft, master of transformation, versatility, something that I am inspired by you.”

Following two weeks of promotions, actors Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna's film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has been released in the theatres in India and abroad today. The anticipation has been at an all-time high. On Thursday night, the film premiered for the film industry where Ranbir's wife, actress Alia Bhatt was also in attendance. And she has shared the first review of the film.

In a video shared by a paparazzo on Instagram, Alia Bhatt responded to a question about the film. She called it ‘outstanding’ before she said, “Khatarnaak.”

The premiere was attended by Mahesh Bhatt, Soni Razdan, Shaheen Bhatt and Neetu Kapoor along with Rohit Dhawan who came to support Ranbir Kapoor. Alia was wearing a customised Animal t-shirt for the premiere.

In a recent conversation with Variety, Ranbir said, "My character in Animal shares some traits with Sandeep Reddy Vanga's protagonists. He is indeed tough and uncompromising in certain aspects. But he is also multi-dimensional and complex, with moments of vulnerability and internal conflict that make him more relatable and human."

During the conversation, Karan Johar addressed the distance between Kajol and Rani’s families back in the day and how things have changed. For unversed, they are cousins but they had different dynamics with each other’s siblings. Talking about the distance between them back in the day, Kajol said, “Nothing really like that. It was just an organic distance. Where work is concerned it’s more that both of us liked where we were.”

To this, Rani added, “Because I have known her as a kid and she was Kajol didi for me and it was a bit stranger. I guess when you grow apart you really don’t know the reason why because you don’t meet that often because Kajol didi used to stay in town and we were in Juhu. Me and Tanisha were much closer and we are still. But Kajol didi was always closer to the boys of the family. So, it was a bit strange.”

When Karan asked how they built their relationship, Rani said, “More after our dads passed away.” Kajol added, “It’s just an organic thing.” Then Rani said, “As families when you lose your loved ones... I was close to Kajol’s dad. When you go through tough times and losses, that’s when everybody comes closer.”

During the conversation, Kajol revealed she turned down three blockbusters, including Shah Rukh Khan's Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots, and Akshay Kumar's Mohra.

When asked Rani Mukerji the same question, Rani Mukerji said that she did not reject the roles but her dates were blocked by the director due to which she couldn’t do Lagaan. Rani said, "So, I did not turn down this role. It was a particular filmmaker who didn't release my dates, and because of this I could not do Lagaan.”

Talking about this, Karan Johar said, “I know when my dad passed away, it was kind of a young death and he had so much energy. I remember feeling a lot of love from both of you. You all were there, there were no questions asked, you all were just there. Like right through, I knew he had a special place in his heart for the both of you. He loved you both. I think it was because it was his son’s first movie and also because he had known you as a child. He has seen you grow up. I think he would say the most wonderful things about you both. I think, like you rightfully said, it's a tough time when you lose a loved one, that you kind of set a relationship.”

Adding to it, Rani Mukerji said, “Also there is a difference when you are 17 and when you're 40. You grow wiser as people, you also learn to not bother about the little things in life and it's always the bigger things. I think people take advantage of the distance. People from the outside talk too much and the distance grows further apart. You will seldom find people who want people to come together. You will always see people wanting to break people even further." Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram share first official wedding photos from traditional Meitei ceremony, see pics

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda recently made headlines by revealing his upcoming marriage with actress-model Lin Laishram, who hails from Manipur, Northeast India. Now, the actor is married and shared pictures from his traditional Meitei ceremony which was held on November 29, 2023. The wedding festivities took place at Chumthang Shannapung Resort in Imphal.

Upon sharing the photos, Randeep Hooda wrote, "From today, we are One." For the wedding ceremony, Randeep wore a traditional white outfit with a shawl. Lin was dressed in Polloi, a traditional skirt made up of bamboo and thick cloth which was embellished with gems, and shimmer and was made up of velvet material.

As reported by Hindustan Times, Randeep Hooda talked about getting married, "Feels very good. I felt that it was only respectful to come and marry in the bride's tradition. However, I have heard that in Meitei love marriages, the groom has to sit for a very long time. So, that's something but I am looking forward to the ceremony and traditions. I want to experience my life partner's culture. That's why I am here."

Randeep added, "I hope I don't make any mistakes. And we have been talking about their culture, Manipuri culture and all that for a long time. I am looking forward to it and hope that all goes well. I am praying for our happy future and lots of kids and lots of abundance. Yes, it's east meets west. It's like a traditional or cultural exchange. We have been friends for a very long time. We met when we were in the theatres. Since then, we have had a great friendship, which we are now making into a family."

Lin revealed how she met Randeep. She said, "We actually met at Naseeruddin Shah's theatre group called Motley and he was my senior. That's where I met him. We were friends and it's turning into a beautiful journey."

With only a few days left for the release of the movie on the big screen, Anil Kapoor, who plays Ranbir’s father, has shared a photo with Bobby.

In one of the throwback pictures from their early days of shoot, both Anil and Bobby are posing shirtless. “Animal Ka Baap and Animal Ka Enemy Posing,” the caption read.

20 Years of Kal Ho Naa Ho: Saif Ali Khan says, “Shah Rukh Khan TAUGHT me responsibility of the main lead”; Arjun Kapoor, who was AD in the film revealed, “SRK, Saif didn’t attempt to under-cut each other”

Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) is remembered for Shah Rukh Khan’s unforgettable performance. But even Saif Ali Khan put his best foot forward and it’s no surprise that it’s counted as one of his most loved acts. Dil Chahta Hai (2001) followed by Kal Ho Naa Ho helped Saif Ali Khan emerge as a new-age hero for the multiplex audience, resulting in films like Hum Tum (2004), Salaam Namaste (2005) etc.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror in 2015, Saif Ali Khan recounted his memorable roles and mentioned Rohit Patel from Kal Ho Naa Ho. He spoke highly of Shah Rukh Khan while doing so.

Saif Ali Khan said, “I was the last of the second leads. I felt a coming-of-age. I was working with the very best in the industry- Director, co-stars, DOP – and I held my own. I felt Shah Rukh taught me so much – mainly the responsibility of the main lead, but keeping up with him was a real challenge. This role led to me getting my first solo lead.”

Not many are aware that Arjun Kapoor worked on the film as an assistant director. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror in 2014, he spoke about his experience.

Arjun said, “The chemistry between Shah Rukh (Khan) and Saif (Ali Khan) left me wide-eyed. They would discuss lines; improvise on them, without any attempt to under-cut each other.”

This was a time when Arjun Kapoor was overweight and producer Karan Johar nicknamed him Fubu, after the only clothing brand that the actor fit into. The nickname stuck with Arjun even after he lost oodles of weight.

Mahesh Babu calls himself ‘a fan’ of Ranbir Kapoor at Animal pre-release event: “He is the best actor in India”

Actors Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna's upcoming film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is all set to release this week. The trailer was unveiled on Thursday, November 23 in New Delhi followed by a music launch on November 24 in Mumbai, a press conference in Bengaluru and a pre-release event in Hyderabad on Monday, November 27. At the pre-release event, fans saw the presence of Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli.

“I have told him before when I met him but I don't think he took that seriously. I am a huge Ranbir Kapoor fan and in my opinion, he is the best actor in India,” Mahesh Babu said on Monday which left Ranbir smiling.

Bobby Deol’s astonishing transformation for Animal: Trainer shares rigorous regimen; says, “The director was highly pleased with Bobby's physical transformation”

Known for his intense expressions and enigmatic silence in the teaser and trailer, Bobby Deol has left the audience eagerly anticipating his role. Recently, the actor's personal trainer, Prajwal Shetty, shared insights into the rigorous training and sacrifices that went into achieving Bobby's striking appearance.

According to Prajwal, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had a specific vision for Bobby Deol's physique in Animal. He wanted the actor to look broader than Ranbir [Kapoor]. To meet this goal, Bobby had to undergo an intense fitness regimen and make significant dietary sacrifices. Prajwal mentioned, “Considering his excellent body mass intake, his weight fluctuated between 85 to 90.” Prajwal has been training Bobby Deol since his comeback in Salman Khan's Race 3 in 2018.

The transformation journey involved tailored diet plans and 40-minute high-intensity cardio sessions twice a day for four months. Prajwal commended Bobby's commitment to the strict diet, despite his fondness for sweets. The efforts paid off, as Sandeep Reddy Vanga was reportedly highly pleased with Bobby Deol's physical transformation, praising it as exactly what he envisioned. He further added, “The director was highly pleased with Bobby's physical transformation. I recall during the filming of the last scene, he called me over, showcased it on screen, and remarked, 'You've done a remarkable job on his physique; this is precisely what I envisioned.' Actors Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna's upcoming film Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is all set to release this week. The trailer was unveiled on Thursday, November 23 in New Delhi. On Friday, the makers launched the music album of the film in the presence of fans. Recently, the film’s certification revealed that the runtime is 3 hours and 21 minutes. At a recent press conference in Bengaluru, Ranbir Kapoor was asked about the long runtime of the film.

Ranbir Kapoor was accompanied by his co-stars Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and producer Bhushan Kumar. The actor said, “Cinema is cinema. We are not releasing a film this long because we are arrogant about it. We felt that this story required this amount of time to reach the audience in the best way possible.”

Adding further, Ranbir said, “We have seen a cut of this film which is 3 hrs 49 mins and that also held. Even that was entertaining. Sandeep has worked really hard to bring the length down because you cannot stretch that much. Hoping that the audience do not panic by the length and just come experience cinema at its best.”

Rashmika Mandanna said, “This film has multiple complex characters. If you take one character out of it can be a movie in itself. So if you have to enter the world of Animal and understand what psyche they are coming you need so much time and that is the instinct we have gone by. The film is so strong, it holds so well, it is not something you have to worry about.”

Animal star Rashmika Mandanna defends Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh: “I didn't think they were violent films”

Rashmika Mandanna, who juggles her work between South and Hindi films, will next star in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. The trailer was unveiled in New Delhi on Thursday. During the event, Rashmika backed director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and defended Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh.

“When I watched Kabir Singh or Arjun Reddy, I didn't think they were violent films. They were high in intensity. The same is with animals, where you see a little bit of violence. The film is also high in emotions. Sandeep, as a director, is an unapologetic real. People sugarcoat things for the screen, he doesn't do that,” she said.

"It's so amazing because nobody else does that in cinema. He is a very smart director. Why the so much anticipation for the film is only because we are living people's lives which is so real to the core and we are nothing to lie about those characters," she added.

While Vijay Deverakonda led Vanga’s first directorial Arjun Reddy, he helmed the Hindi remake Kabir Singh which was led by Shahid Kapoor.

Farrey Movie Review: FARREY is a well made and well intentioned film laced with fine performances.

FARREY is the story of a group of students trying to cheat the system. Niyati (Alizeh) is an orphan who is raised by a kind-hearted warden (Ronit Roy) at his orphanage, Ishrat Kada, in Delhi. Niyati is very intelligent and she emerges as a topper in her exams. She even gets admission to the prestigious Winston International School. The principal, Vedita Mathew (Shilpa Shukla), agrees to bear her transport and other costs, knowing her financial condition. Niyati joins the school along with Akash (Sahil Mehta), who also comes from an impoverished background and like her, is very intelligent. Niyati becomes friends with her rich classmates, Chavi (Prasanna Bisht), Prateek (Zeyn Shaw), Sahil (Arshvir Wahi) and Rishabh (Paras Nagpal). Chavi reveals to her that her father (Arbaaz Khan) has asked her to get good marks so that she gets admission to Stanford. However, Chavi is a weak student. For the mid-term exams, Niyati helps Chavi by giving her the answers written on an eraser. Chavi asks Niyati to help her again, for the next set of papers, and this time she’s ready to pay a huge amount. Niyati, at first, refuses due to the risk. Meanwhile, Vedita informs Niyati that the latter has a chance to bag a scholarship at Oxford. Niyati also learns that the warden, who is like her father, is struggling to run the orphanage. Hence, she agrees to help Chavi and her friends and even devises a smart way to cheat. All is going well until Niyati gets caught. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

FARREY is an official remake of the 2017 Thai film BAD GENIUS (Directed by Nattawut Poonpiriya). The story is fresh and relatable. Soumendra Padhi and Abhishek Yadav's screenplay is tight. Not many films have been made on this topic. Hence, one looks forward to what happens next. The ending, however, is shaky. Soumendra Padhi and Abhishek Yadav's dialogues are conversational.

Soumendra Padhi's direction is classy. This is not a conventional film. But he has executed certain scenes with style and it adds to the film's appeal. The scenes where the characters are copying are nail-biting. The Australia sequence, meanwhile, is intriguing.

On the flipside, the ending is sweet but there's a shift in the tonality. One expects the film to continue being thrilling and maybe even get violent. But the opposite happens, and it doesn't gel well with the overall tone of the film. Secondly, while the director tries his best to explain the complexities, in some places, he fails to do so. This will leave viewers confused. Moreover, the voice record scene is a bit misleading as well. Lastly, the title is not quite simple and appears confusing.

Alizeh delivers a smashing performance. It’s difficult to believe this is her debut film as she performs exactly as per the character's demand. Prasanna Bisht shines and rocks the show, especially in the second half. Sahil Mehta is decent initially but makes his presence felt in the second half. Zeyn Shaw is decent. Ronit Roy is dependable as always. Juhi Babbar Soni (Zoya) and Shilpa Shukla leave a mark. Arshvir Wahi, Paras Nagpal, Bhavna Choudhary (Priyanka) and Shivangi Negi (Monica) are okay and don't have much to do. Arbaaz Khan is fair in a cameo.

Sachin-Jigar's music is not of the chartbuster variety. 'Ghar Pe Party Hai' and 'Machade Tabahi' are peppy while 'O Bandeya' is intended to be soulful. But these songs are not memorable. Sidhant Mathur's background score is gripping.

Keiko Nakahara's cinematography is unusual. Susheel Mishra's production design is very rich, especially in the scenes set in Chavi's mansion. Natascha Charak and Nikita Mohanty's costumes are in sync with the characters and their class. Paramjeet Pamma's action is minimal and realistic. Zubin Sheikh's editing is slick.

On the whole, FARREY is a well-made and well-intentioned film and is laced with fine performances by the debutants. At the box office, the confusing title, the lack of promotions and awareness is likely to impact the footfalls and the collections. The film will need a strong word of mouth to attract the audience.

The new episode of Koffee With Karan Season 8 saw the reunion of Student of the Year stars Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra with a cameo of Alia Bhatt. All three stars have completed 11 years in the industry, married and have come a long way since their debut. In the episode, Alia made a special appearance through a video where she talked about her special connection with Sidharth and Varun. Following that, Karan revealed that both the actors were sort of against her casting in the movie considering she was very young!

“I still remember with Alia, the first time that she walked in, how both of you sent me messages saying you can’t cast her. One of you said she is too young. I am saying it started like this but when we shot with her, three months post that for a photo shoot, I remember she stood quiet and didn’t look at either of you. Either she was conscious or shy because you all already knew me. She didn’t know me at all. We did the photo shoot, and right after that, I mean, I knew at the first shot," Karan said. He also said that Varun would show pictures of other girls for the casting.

Karan Johar also said, “When I went to the van and told her that she was on, and said ‘I'm directing the film,’ she burst out crying and the first thing she said is ‘Can I eat a cupcake?’”

Sidharth then said, “Because you starved her.” Both Varun and Sid agreed that Karan made her starve. Sidharth joked, “You didn't want people to eat any food.” Varun said, “He was not letting us eat. He had very rationed food coming over. There were no carbs. I remember you (Sidharth) were so dehydrated twice.” Sidharth said, “It was child labour.”

Varun then said, “That was a different Karan Johar. He used to wear shorts and direct on the beach." The actors laughed and said, "He had more looks than us.”

In a candid and exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Jaydeep Sarkar, the director of Amazon Prime Video's docuseries Rainbow Rishta, shared insights into the show's creation, its impact on audiences, and the ongoing challenges faced by the community in India.

When asked to share the most heart-touching response he received for the Amazon Prime Video show, Sarkar asserted, “One of the things that really moved me was a message from my partner's aunt, who lives in Jamshedpur. She wrote the most beautiful message. She's 75. She asked - ‘What can I do? What can we do to undo the wrongs of generations?”

Sarkar also delved into the current state of the LGBTQIA+ community in India, explaining the diversity of challenges faced. He said, “We've come a long way, with [Section] 377 being struck down, it almost feels like we've been told that - 'you can exist, but don't ask for anything more.' It is not anywhere close to what the ideal is. Me and my partner, for example. I had to go to 70 houses to finally find a house that would have us as an openly gay couple.”

The director credited his mother-in-law, Shobha Mendhi, as his biggest cheerleader and support system, highlighting her unapologetic acceptance of their relationship and her ability to navigate challenges with love and kindness.

Discussing the inception of Rainbow Rishta, Sarkar revealed that Vice Studios had already pitched the idea to Amazon when he came on board. The casting process aimed for diversity, not only in terms of sexual orientation but also across different backgrounds, genders, and economic statuses. “The casting director Navin Noronha is a very prolific stand-up comic and he travels around the country. He brought more than 200-250 people and interviewed all of them,” Jaydeep said.

Reflecting on life after the scrapping of Section 377, Sarkar acknowledged, “I am very aware of my privilege. I went to St. Stephen's College, and I have worked with filmmakers who are really progressive humanist filmmakers. What I think has happened with [scrapping of Section] 377 is that once you have a sense of validation from the system and are not deemed criminal, a sense of confidence comes in. When that law changes, you know that you're not a criminal and you're not someone who is indulging in nefarious activities; it helps you accept yourself more. So, I don't know if the change is apparent, but there has been a tectonic shift for sure. And, yeah, I'm able to live a more authentic life.”

Addressing the continued prejudices faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, Sarkar attributed it to “fear of the unknown” and a “lack of accurate representation in mainstream media.” He stressed the importance of showcasing authentic queer experiences, as demonstrated in Rainbow Rishta.

In closing, Sarkar expressed his thoughts on the representation of the LGBTQIA+ community in Indian entertainment. While commending films like Badhaai Do, Loev, and My Brother Nikhil, he urged for a shift away from basic coming-out stories and stated the need for more nuanced and authentic portrayals in mainstream media.

Instead, she had dated other men while also dating her future husband. The trolling she has received because of her admission is baffling. In fact, it has gone as far as students at Banaras Hindu University reportedly putting on a play where a girl plays Deepika and male students act as her past boyfriends."

“Her approach to finding a suitable partner though is rather logical. Suppose you want to buy a couch, wouldn’t you go to the store to figure out which one feels nice and bouncy, which has a comfortable backrest and which fabric doesn’t make your skin itch? But when it comes to the couch potato whom you have to snuggle against, you are expected to just pick one without testing out alternatives,” she added.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, as confessed by the couple during the show, started seeing each other in 2012 and were expected to have got secretly engaged in 2015. However, the couple tied the knot in a traditional ceremony which was held in Italy in November 2018.

Veteran actress Zeenat Aman, marking her 72nd birthday, delighted her fans with a heartfelt message on Sunday, expressing gratitude for her life's journey.

Sharing a picture of herself, Zeenat wrote in caption, “Today - an expression of unadulterated gratitude for my life. For the pinnacles and pitfalls that have gifted me resilience and self belief. For my small, loving family of two-legged and four-legged beings. For a circle of friends that has endured through decades. For a mind that is alive and curious still. For a body that occasionally aches, but yet persists. For the love and kindness each one of you has given me. And for the opportunities that flow my way as a result.”

Zeenat extended her thanks for the warm wishes and support from well-wishers, concluding her post with a wish for everyone to live a long life, free of regrets and filled with grace. Zeenat Aman is an Indian actress and a former model. The Evil Within (1970), starring Dev Anand, marked the former beauty queen's acting debut. Tiger 3 fan event: Salman Khan gifts Tiger-themed scarf to Katrina Kaif: Katrina remarks “For the first time, he’s giving me a present”; Salman takes a dig at Yuvvraaj

The scarf has become synonymous with the character of Tiger, played by Salman Khan in films from the Tiger franchise. The iconic character’s entry in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan (2023) also saw the scarf playing an important role. The scarf was shown first and the audience went into a frenzy in cinemas as they knew that it was an indication that their favourite superstar would come on screen in no time. Hence, it was interesting to see that the scarf made its presence felt at the promotional event held to celebrate Tiger 3 at a multiplex in Mumbai on Friday, November 17. Salman Khan was present at the event along with Katrina Kaif, Emraan Hashmi and hundreds of excited fans.

At the event, Salman Khan was asked to present the Tiger-themed scarf to Katrina Kaif. Katrina was amazed at this gesture. She immediately remarked, “For the first time, he’s giving me a present.” Salman dramatically asked “Kya?”. It raised a lot of laughs.

After taking a pause for a few seconds, Salman Khan reminded her of all the films they did together, “Tiger (Ek Tha Tiger; 2012) present nahin tha? Bharat (2019) present nahin tha? Partner (2007) present nahin tha? Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya (2005) present nahin tha? Ek present nahin tha. Woh tha Yuvvraaj (2008)!”

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif dated for a few years and then had a break-up. Yet, both continued working in movies and have a deep friendship. This was evident in their chemistry on-screen and also during events and promotional activities.

Tiger 3, which was released on Diwali Day, on Sunday, November 12, opened at a huge Rs. 44.50 crores. It now remains to be seen how it scores in the second weekend. Besides Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi, Tiger 3 also starred Shah Rukh Khan in a special appearance. It was directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF).

Tiger 3 fan event: Salman Khan AMAZED with HISTORIC collections on Diwali day: “It released on the Diwali day and yet collected Rs. 43 crores. Koi ghar pe family ke saath baith ke pooja paath kar raha tha ki nahin kar raha tha?”

The Diwali release Tiger 3 had a superb opening, bringing cheer to the industry. The actors of the film – Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi – came out to promote the film on Friday, November 17. They interacted with fans at a screening of the film held at a multiplex in Mumbai. Salman Khan was in his element as he raised laughs with his statements.

Salman began by saying, “Bahut acchi baat hai ki aap sab ko yeh film acchi lagi. It’s also heartening that you are all here and will watch the film (after this event). I was wondering ‘Itne saare log (hai yahaan). Fir theatres mein kaun hai?’. Who’s paying and going for the film then?”

He then mentioned the ICC Cricket World Cup, “It’s amazing because even the World Cup is going on. India dhada dhad maare jaa raha tha. India has won every game. And this is when we arrived with Tiger 3. Hence, our collections are very good. Inshallah, India will win the finals and then, everyone will be in cinemas (to watch Tiger 3).”

He added, “Cricket is anyway a religion in this country. Is there anyone who doesn’t watch cricket? Except me? (smiles)!”

Apart from the World Cup, Tiger 3 also braved the Diwali holiday. The norm is to release the film a day after Diwali. Tiger 3, however, came on the day of the Festival of Lights and shocked the industry as it collected Rs. 44.50 crores. On this, Salman Khan joked, “It released on the Diwali day and yet collected Rs. 43 crores. Koi ghar pe family ke saath baith ke pooja paath kar raha tha ki nahin kar raha tha?”

During the conversation, Alia Bhatt talked about the perception the internet has about Ranbir Kapoor being a ‘toxic’ husband. In recent times, the actress has shared several anecdotes including one about him asking her to wipe her lipstick off as her natural lips look good and it being taken as Ranbir being a controlling husband. The actress said that he is genuinely the opposite of what people think of him.

"I've been accused of talking too much about Ranbir," Alia said on Koffee With Karan. "Anything you say about him becomes like an explosion online," KJo said, and added, "Is it because Ranbir is not on social media?" Kareena Kapoor Khan agreed and so did Alia.

She continued, "I think so. I have a very candid way of speaking and even when I'm talking about something in my life, I like to imitate the person I'm talking about, I like to give anecdotes, I like to make it personal and I feel like a lot of the things just get picked out of context. Which happened recently with a video and stuff like that. My team told me yeh kuch out of hand jaa raha hain (this is getting out of hand) and I said OK theek hai, jaane do because genuinely people say things all the time.”

"But then I realized there are serious articles talking about how he's a toxic man and this and that and I'm like, are we serious? There are many issues in the world to give more attention toward than something I said in a completely different context. And I feel bad if people misunderstand it because he's genuinely the opposite of that," said Alia.

“There is a line I feel is being crossed but you can't say anything about it, people can say what they want about you. In fact, Ranbir says this, 'Alia the audience owns you, they can say what the hell they want about you. As long as your movies are doing well, please do not complain sitting in your apartment in Bandra.' I was like, ya that's right, kuch mat bolo (don't say anything)," Alia Bhatt added.
