Vidya Balan remembers 'human computer' Shakuntala Devi on her 90th birth anniversary

Vidya Balan will be next seen playing late Shakuntala Devi, the globally known human computer, in her biopic. The film went on floors a couple of months back, and is in progress now. Meanwhile, on Shakuntala Devi's 90th birth anniversary, Vidya remembered her with a heartfelt note on social media. “Charismatic, witty & exceptionally brilliant, she gave the world more reasons than one to be in awe with her! Remembering the extraordinary woman, #ShakuntalaDevi, on her 90th birth anniversary”, she wrote. Vidya's co-star Sanya Malhotra, who plays the late legend's daughter Anupama Banerji, also paid tribute to her on Twitter. '#ShakuntalaDevi was phenomenal in every sense of the word! Remembering the math prodigy on her 90th birth anniversary,' she wrote.

Shakuntala Devi, who made it to the Guinness Book Of Records in 1982, was was also the author of a handful of books based on mathematics and astrology, and was one of the pioneers to have written about homosexuals, showing them in a positive light.

The film is being directed by Anu Menon who earlier helmed Kalki Koechlin's Waiting and Ali Fazal's London, Paris, New York.  It is slated to release in 2020.
