EXCLUSIVE: Honey Singh on beef culture: "I would just go to their home and break a bottle on their head"

Beef or the Diss culture has been trending in Indian hip-hop for a few years. Most of the audience who follows the Indian Rap scene has to know about diss tracks after the beef of Raftaar versus Emiway. Without any doubt that beef actually escalated Indian hip-hop to another height.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, when Honey Singh was asked about Beef culture and the fact that family and other loved ones being involved in this rap battle, sharing his views, Honey humorously said, “I am from Delhi and a Sikh, so I don’t eat beef”. Further, he added, “Beef is Kaalo’s culture. It is their way where they indulge themselves in using abusive language. In our Delhi, if there is any kind of dispute, we would go to their home and break their head, rather than beefing. So, I don’t believe in beefing over a mike. If there is any issue with anyone, then I would just go to their home and break a bottle on their head. For me, this is actual beef”.

Sharing his view on the same Honey Singh said, “I believe abusing or cursing other’s family members in songs is wrong. Rather going to their home and breaking bottle over their head is the right way”.

The most popular beef rapper of India currently is Emiway Bantai. He has made headlines multiple times with his beef battles. His beef battle with rapper Raftaar and rapper Krsna garnered a lot of attention from its audience. The feud with Raftaar started when Emiway released a diss track featuring a clip of Raftaar from an interview where he said that Emiway would not be earning money so early in his career because he was still an underground artist.
