Imlie actress Hetal Yadav opens up on gender inequality; says “Playing a woman card in the name of equality is hypocrisy”
Hetal Yadav, who has made a special place for herself in the hearts of the audience with her stints in popular shows like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Imlie, has always been vocal about her views and is known for expressing her heart out and she continues to do the same till date. Recently, she opened up about her opinion on gender inequality and had some interesting as well as valid points to make regarding the issue. Hetal Yadav asserted about being a strong and independent woman and explained that she had to break the confines to achieve it. She said, “Thank you for calling me a strong woman and yes now I’m a strong woman because once I was a weak woman. The situations and episodes happened in my life made me strong. I’m proud and glad that I’ve gone through such phases in my life and because of which I’m a human being which I am today.” She continued, “In today’s time everyone is independent be it a woman or a man because in earlier times, women were dependent on their parents or husbands and there were so many restrictions for them but now I feel there is no restrictions as such, women are working with men and better than them, they are earning good.” Lastly, the actress also expressed her views on her idea of inequality. “Being a strong woman is definitely good but playing a woman card in the name of equality is very bad because if you are strong and you don’t like to compare men and women and you want equality then equality comes in everything, I feel that this is hypocrisy,” she concluded. Talking about her professional commitments, Hetal Yadav is known for her role as Jwala in the show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The actress, interestingly, portrays the role of much orthodox Shivani Rana in the show Imlie, wherein she plays the role of Buaji (paternal aunt) of Atharva Rana, the male lead, who is in a complicated marital relationship with Imlie (Megha Chakraborty).
