Kareena Kapoor Khan opens up about ‘working-mom guilt’; says, “We always try to not have that, but I think it'll always creep in”

Many actresses in the past have opened up about the life of a working woman and the challenges of balancing work and motherhood. Kareena Kapoor Khan is one such actress, who has not only changed the way the world perceive married actresses but she has also proved that motherhood doesn’t impact the success of a female actor either. Balancing the role of a mother and a female star of the tinseltown, Kareena has always maintained that her love for acting has remained the same over the years and how her husband Saif Ali Khan has remained supportive throughout this journey. In a recent interview, she also opened up about a subject that is rarely discussed – the ‘working mom guilt’. In an interview with The Quint, Kareena Kapoor Khan was seen discussing her journey as an actress which also included her challenges of balancing work and motherhood. The actress discussed that she loves to juggle the real and reel life roles together, adding, “It’s fun, I love it. I don’t know what life is like without my children, my family, and my husband. That is the most important thing of my life. At the same time, I must do things that I enjoy which is working, being on the movie set and acting.” She further went on to reveal about the working mom guilt. For the unversed, the working mom guilt is a concept where women often feel like they are missing out on their child’s growth and development, and guilt themselves into believing that they prioritize work over their child. Talking about it, Kareena added, "We always try to not have that guilt, but I think it'll always creep in. Each person deals with it differently. Each mother deals with it differently. So, I can't sit here and give tips. I don't even like the idea of giving tips to any mother because everybody’s journey is different." On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan will be making her OTT debut this year with the Sujoy Ghosh directorial, an untitled adaptation of the Japanese novel, Devotion of Suspect X. The actress will also be seen as the protagonist in the upcoming Hansal Mehta directorial, followed by The Crew, co-starring Tabu and Kriti Sanon.
