DJ Diplo dances his heart out as Diljit Dosanjh croons ‘Patiala Peg’ at Coachella 2023, watch video

South Asian music fans have all the reasons to celebrate at this year’s Coachella. The 2023 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival became a huge platform for South Asian artists to take over the stage and enthrall music-goers. Indian actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh’s exhilarating performance took over the internet with the official Coachella released garnering over 18 million views on Instagram.

On Saturday night, Diljit Dosanjh took the Coachella stage in Indio, California. The singer became the first Punjabi artist ever to perform at Coachella. He took the stage in the traditional outfit as he enthralled the California audience on several hit tracks including ‘Patiala Peg’, ‘GOAT’, ‘Ni Mein LA Nu’ and ‘Vibe’ among others. DJ Diplo, who recently visited India for the first edition of Lollapalooza 2023, was seen dancing to the beats of ‘Patiala Peg’. He was surrounded by his group of friends as he enjoyed the performance of Diljit and even praised his historic moment. “First Punjabi artist to perform at Coachella and y’all really thought I would miss it?” he wrote in the caption.

Diljit Dosanjh is known for his Punjabi music and movies, including the albums Smile, Back 2 Basics, Con.Fi.Den.Tial, G.O.A.T and Moonchild. He has also contributed as a singer to several Bollywood movies.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Diljit Dosanjh recently unveiled the first trailer of his upcoming Punjabi movie, Jodi. Set for May 5 release, the film stars him opposite Saunkan Saunkne actress Nimrat Khaira. He will also be seen in Imtiaz Ali's directorial Chamkila with Parineeti Chopra. The actor has also signed The Crew alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon and Tabu.
