Farhan Akhtar shares photos from Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’s special screening on 10th anniversary for hearing and speech-impaired people: “Truly an overwhelming experience to be there and be part of this historic moment”

Released in 2013, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's directorial Bhaag Milkha Bhaag completed 10 years this month and to pay tribute to the Indian sprint legend, the late Milkha Singh, the COO of Viacom18 Studios, Ajit Andhare and Executive Producer of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, P. S. Bharathi from ROMP Pictures will be re-releasing the biographical sports drama on August 6 in selected theaters. Ahead of the re-release, a special screening was scheduled on July 26 for hearing and speech-impaired people at PVR Icon Andheri West, Mumbai and the cast came together to pay homage to the late Milkha Singh. Farhan Akhtar attended one screening with the team and was overwhelmed with the experience.

Sharing a slew of photos on Instagram, Farhan Akhtar wrote, “To celebrate a decade of Milkha ji’s story on film, a screening was held in Mumbai for people with hearing loss. The Indian Sign Language Organisation (ISL), Viacom 18 and Bharathi Mehra have worked for months and created a theatrical version of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag with sign language. Their effort is beyond exemplary. It was truly an overwhelming experience to be there and be part of this historic moment. Thank you to @pvrcinemas_official for supporting this and re-releasing the film with sign language in over 30 screens across the country.”

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag traced the inspiring journey of the late Milkha Singh played by Farhan Akhtar and how he overcomes many agonizing obstacles in order to become a world champion, Olympian, and one of India's most iconic athletes. The film was also a massive box office success and was the fifth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2013.
