Sunny Deol says he didn't get much work after Gadar became a superhit: “With corporates overtaking, everything became quarterly calculated”
Bollywood actor Sunny Deol is back with his latest release, Gadar 2. The film, helmed by Anil Sharma, also stars Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma. It has entered the Rs. 400 crores club at the Indian box office. Till now, the film has collected Rs. 456.05 crores. However, in a recent conversation, the actor revealed that movies weren't offered to him even after the 2001 movie Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.
In a conversation with BBC Asian Network, Sunny said that despite the success of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, he didn't have much work. He said, "Before that (Gadar), I had no issues. I wasn’t getting much work even when it (Gadar) was a much-appreciated film of the century. The Hindi film industry was undergoing changes, transforming into what we currently know as Bollywood. With corporates overtaking, everything became quarterly calculated which lead to fewer projects."
