On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, Bollywood celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation.
Veteran actor Anupam Kher shared portraits of Bapu and Lal Bahadur Shastri, whose birth anniversary also falls today, and wrote, “Best wishes to all of you on the occasion of Gandhiji and Shastri ji's birth anniversary! Both great leaders have contributed significance in different aspects of my life. Hail India!"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat in Delhi. He said that Mahatma Gandhi's impact is global and that his timeless teachings continue to illuminate our path.
PM Modi also launched a cleanliness drive on Friday to mark the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. He said that Swachh Bharat is a shared responsibility and that every effort counts.
