Koffee With Karan 8: Karan Johar asks Sunny Deol about Gadar 2 ‘organic collections’: ‘Are we inflating box office numbers?’

The couch is back with its host Karan Johar as Hotstar Specials’ Koffee with Karan returned for season 8.  Following the premiere episode with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, the Deol brothers, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol graced the second episode of the show! During the episode, Karan Johar asked  Sunny Deol about the organic collections of Gadar 2 and whether the industry puts out an inflated box office.

Karan said, “I was watching your interviews, and you were saying, ‘Ours are organic collections’. What does that really mean? Do you think that there are inflated numbers being given by us? Are we inflating box office numbers, Sunny sir?”

Sunny laughed as he replied, “I don’t know. There are times… That’s the way… The world is moving like that, right? If you ask me frankly, all the companies want the product to move ahead, and try to support it, so that it gets the buzz out there. I know that does happen, and it is happening. But that’s the way it is. It’s not like one particular person… That’s the way society is moving right now.”

When asked if it is all about perception game, Sunny said, “Yes, it is. The world is full of perception. And then it starts becoming a reality, you know?” Sunny Deol talked about the film not only doing well in multiplexes but also in single screens.

Directed by Anil Sharma, starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur, Manish Wadhwa, and Luv Sinha, this sequel carries forward the legacy of Gadar - Ek Prem Katha, now highlighting the essence of love, family, and the enduring bond between a father and his son.
