Ashutosh Rana calls current Bollywood a "Golden period" for actors like him: “I hope to get lots of work and play different characters”

Veteran actor Ashutosh Rana believes the current era of Bollywood is a golden age for actors like him who embrace diverse roles. Rana, who recently starred in the OTT investigative drama series Murder in Mahim, has carved a niche for himself by portraying complex characters, often villains, with captivating nuance.

In a PTI report, the 56-year-old actor expressed his enthusiasm for the evolving landscape of Indian cinema. "I feel there is a lot left in Ashutosh Rana. The actor in Ashutosh Rana is like a child who has just started walking and is taking baby steps. There is a lot to come. Why I think this way is because I started with films which were called off-beat cinema and that have become mainstream cinema now."

He further added, "For the actors like me, it is a golden period.” Elaborating on the same, he asserted, “I hope to get lots of work and play different characters. I want to play Chanakya on screen, Raavan, Vivekanand and Krishna. There are so many characters who are engraved in our minds like Gabbar (from Sholay)."
