Aamir Khan champions local arts by attending a dance musical 18 Days in Mumbai: “Art and culture are the bedrock of society”

Aamir Khan once again demonstrated his deep-rooted passion for the arts. On August 1, the Bollywood superstar lent his star power to a local production, attending the dance musical 18 Days at the Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir in Bandra, Mumbai.

As the keynote speaker for the evening, Khan emphasized the pivotal role of arts and culture in shaping society. “Art and culture are the bedrock of society,” he asserted, as reported by Mid-day. “They connect us to our roots and provide a foundation for future generations.” Khan urged patrons to actively contribute to preserving these invaluable cultural treasures actively actively, ensuring their continued relevance and appeal across generations.

Following Khan’s speech, the audience was treated to a 90-minute dance musical, 18 Days: Dusk of an Era. The production, brought to life by a Mumbai-based troupe, presented a fresh and innovative interpretation of the epic Mahabharata. Blending symphony-style music, captivating animations, and the grace of Natya Shastra, the performance was a visual and auditory spectacle.

With a cast of 50 skilled performers, including dancers, martial artists, and experts in levitation, aerial acrobatics, and magic, the troupe transported the audience to the heart of the Kurukshetra war. Having previously enthralled audiences in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Goa, the production's Mumbai debut was eagerly anticipated.
