Aamir Khan reveals Laal Singh Chaddha, Forrest Gump adaptation, took 14 years to make
Aamir Khan added one more feather in his cap by launching his own podcast named 'Laal Singh Chaddha Ki Kahaaniyan where the star talks about the making of his upcoming film and also gives insight on who was originally supposed to sing the song 'Kahani' which was released a few days ago. As a part of an intriguing, avant-garde promotional campaign for the upcoming film directed by Advait Chandan, Aamir Khan gets into the elements of everything that took to compose the musical wonder.
Interestingly, while sharing several anecdotes on the film and the first song 'Kahani', he also mentioned that it took several years to get Laal Singh Chaddha made. He said, "In June-July, the film will complete 14 years, since we started it. It has been quite a journey. First few years, we were running behind the rights of the film."
Talking about why he released 'Kahani' as a lyrical video, Aamir Khan said, "I wanted people to just listen to the song created by Pritam and Amitabh Bhattacharya. We have confidence in the singers that whatever they've created doesn't need the film's visuals. I wanted that everyone should listen to the song and experience it."
During one of the conversations, Amitabh Bhattacharya asked if the essence of the song could be on the similar lines of Raj Kapoor's Anari’s evergreen song 'Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai'. Aamir agreed with Amitabh amd called 'Kahani' a ‘philosophical’ experience.
Laal Singh Chaddha is produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and Viacom18 Studios. The film is all set to release on 11th August 2022 in theatres worldwide.
